Hello my cuties!! How are you guys feeling today? I hope you had a marvelous and fantastic week! Today I bring you a very special post since a couple days ago, me and my best friend Diana decided to go on a spontaneous trip to Barcelona! I know, I know.... another spontaneous trip! I guess we don't like to plan a travel in advance, with time!
We wanted to explore a new city and thought what better choice than our own neighbor? You guys, I cannot tell you how much I loved this romantic, stunning and dazzling city! I absolutely fell in love and adored every single aspect, for countless reasons!! The mesmerizing views, the detailed, remarkable and sensational architecture!! It felt like I was in Lisbon, in Paris and Edinburgh, all at the same time, HOW INSANE?! The gardens and parks were just ravishing and something out of this world! You get to explore so many interesting museums and enjoy so many different activities! Not to mention that you have endless restaurants, cafes and options to eat!
Barcelona was something else, beyond special to me and it touched me in a way that no city did it! People were beyond welcoming, nice, kind and always happy!! On the contrary of what people say, they do speak english! The streets were all cleaned, something that didn't quite happen in Paris!
We decided to explore, get lost and enjoy the streets of Barcelona and it's architecture, which in my opinion was definitely worth it, because you get to know a lot of things!
Besides that, we couldn't have come to Barcelona without visiting the monumental and remarkable La Sagrada Familia!! You guys... I got goosebumps!! How could someone think of all those little details?? How?? If you ever get the chance to go to Barcelona I definitely highly recommend you to go there and see it for yourself! It's stunning!!
Moreover, we visited Parc de la Ciutadella which was spectacular and again out of this world!! It's a good place to do a picnic or just enjoy a walk along the park with your loved ones!
Lastly, I would recommend you to explore the Park Guell, the Gothic quarter, the famous Arc de Triomf and the Palau de la Música Catalana! All of them were stunning, especially the Park Guell, which was personally my favorite place!
TIPS:
- Bring comfortable clothes and shoes, and please don't be as smart as I was to bring a pair of new shoes to the trip! You're definitely will regret it since you will be walking a lot!! In our case, we walked around 17 km a day!!
- If your hotel, hostel or apartment is located in the center, metro won't be necessary because the main touristic attractions are nearby and besides, what better way to know and explore a new city by walking? You're definitely will enjoy and see so much more! The only time, we used our tickets was to go to Park Guell, because it was far away! We reserved the tickets online and then we picked them up, in the machines in the aeroport! Not only can you use them to the metro but also to any other public transport such as the bus!
- Another thing I will definitely recommend you is to buy online tickets to any museum or attraction! Believe me it's worth it! In order to enjoy more and skip the lines to the La Sagrada Familia and the park Guell please buy the tickets online!! We paid a little bit more but it was worth it! You will save so much time!! The lines just to buy the tickets are insanely HUGE!!
- To visit the main attractions, I will recommend you to visit them either in the morning or around 18H, the best time in my opinion to enjoy properly and to take nice pictures!
- If you want to take a nice picture in front of the La Sagrada Familia, go there really early in front of a small "lake", a garden! You wouldn't believe the amount of people that go there just to take a picture!! It's unbelievable!
- Lastly, be careful with your bags and handbags, always wear them in the front because there are a lot of people to steal it!! And please, if someone asks you to "just sign it", don't do it because it's a fraude mainly to steal something from you!
