Expectations vs. Reality

Hello my cuties! I hope you are having a wonderful and magical week! As you know from the previous post I have recently went to Barcelona with my best friend!! Not only is Barcelona a breathtaking and an astonishing city with endless parks, gardens to explore and activities to do, but also provides you with a wide variety of options to eat, so many amazing restaurants, from mouthwatering brunches, Italian food to their own typical food!!
One thing I have noticed while in Barcelona is that the food is pretty affordable! For the amount of food you get and its quality, the price is cheap!

Tips:
  • The only thing I would definitely highly recommend you when it comes to eat in Barcelona, is to make a reservation!! Most of the restaurants requires an online reservation! So before you decide to have a meal somewhere, search on the internet whether you need or not to reserve in advance! It's really easy and it only takes 2 minutes! They will send you an email with a confirmation! If you won't do it there's a high possibility of waiting for a long time in line or even being full!
1)RAÓ Restaurant:
We couldn't have come to Spain without trying their famous and delightful tapas!! It's beyond popular!
We decided to have the experience at RAÓ Restaurant and we couldn't have chosen better! I'm so glad we went there!
This restaurant is located at Carrer de les Sitges, 3, 08001 Barcelona and its well known for modern gourmet tapas! You guys if you will ever get the chance to go to Barcelona I would highly recommend you to go there!! I'm deeply in love with this place
They had such a lovely, welcoming and romantic environment with a marvelous and kind service! One of the waiters was Portuguese! How nice?! The food.. was absolutely mouthwatering. We decided to try their potatoes, typical bread and octopus which (OMG) was my favorite! We tried their cheesecake which was something else!! So yummy!
We paid around 35 euros per person, including food, drinks, cocktails and desserts!

2)FLAX & KALE:
I don't even know where to begin!! First of all this place is the exact reason why I'm naming this post as "Expectations vs. Reality"... but WHY?
FLAX & KALE is located at Carrer dels Tallers, 74b, 08001 Barcelona, embracing a really healthy concept, it's known as a healthy Flexitarian Restaurant! When searching for the best places to eat in Barcelona, this was the first one always appearing on my screen! So... I had really high expectations, thinking that the food would be delicious, something out of this world and service would be AMAZING!
I am beyond disappointed and frustrated with this place for countless reasons! Where should I start!?
Well the food was definitely not good at all, either they had the weirdest food combinations or I'm not used to that type of food or I got lucky and chose the worst possible thing they had on the menu! I still don't know! We chose a salad with papaia and it looked more like they just threw a bunch of ingredients!
Moreover, I don't know what the hell was I thinking when I ordered a kombucha (non-alchoholic)! It was absolutely disgusting, not to mention that I couldn't even open! It looked more like a freaking volcano in eruption! The only thing I liked was their latte!
Besides that, can we mention the staff?? I understand they were really busy, I get it, but we waited for so long!! It was unacceptable the fact that they took everybody's order expect ours! They were not nice and welcoming at all!
We paid around 25 euros per person which for the service and food was expensive!
Even though they are really famous I don't recommend you to spend your time and money here! Maybe someday I will give it another shot... maybe, who knows?

3) EatMyTrip- Brunch and Bakery:
You guys this place got to be one of my favorite places I have ever been to, for multiple reasons!!
This cafe, located at Carrer del Consell de Cent, 378, 08009 Barcelona, is definitely so original, unique and something else! They had Russian typical desserts such as Varenikies, with a Japanese twist!! How cool! It reminded me when I was a child and my parents would always do it! They had the most amazing and peaceful environment with the nicest and most wonderful waitresses!! They were beyond kind!!
The food... as I said before, was absolutely DELICIOUS!! We had pancakes with fruit and a latte which also was really yummy and creamy! I definitely highly recommend you! You're definitely not gonna regret it! And do you know how much we paid?? Around 10 euros per person! How insane?!

XoXo, Leila.
